SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

A local aviation business is bringing new jobs to Sioux City.

Aviation Consultant Expert Solutions or ACES along with city officials held a ribbon cutting at hangar 802 at the Sioux Gateway Airport Monday.

ACES is a FAA certified Maintenance Repair Operation that will begin serving regional and commuter passenger jets between 30 and 100 seats.

Officials are hiring 34 highly skilled mechanics and say they’re excited to be working with the city, Jetsun Aviation and the airport board.

“A lot of airlines fly their aircraft to small towns to be worked on. So Sioux City will be a name in the airline industry to have their aircraft worked on. Airlines will fly aircraft wherever the maintenance is at. So it will be a good thing for Sioux City and us,” said Jim Sponder, ACES CEO.

ACES is receiving financial assistance through the Targeted Jobs Withholding Tax Credits Program and they are currently hiring their employees.

The company has a 20-year lease that includes 24,000 square feet of hangar floor and 12,000 square feet of shop and office space.
